General Secretary launches Tree Planting Festival at Hoa Lac High-Tech Park

In the joyful and exciting atmosphere of the first days of the New Year, on the morning of February 22 (the 4th day of the Lunar New Year 2015), General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong visited and wished a Happy New Year to the staff of Hoa Lac High-Tech Park (Hanoi) and participated in the Tree Planting Festival to forever remember Uncle Ho.

Also attending were Mr. Pham Quang Nghi, Politburo member, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee; Tran Quoc Vuong, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chief of the Central Office; Vu Duc Dam, Deputy Prime Minister; Nguyen Quan, Minister of Science and Technology; Chau Van Minh, President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology; representatives of many departments, ministries, branches, central agencies, corporations and general companies that have invested in Hoa Lac High-Tech Park.

As one of three national high-tech zones, Hoa Lac High-Tech Park is being focused on investment to become a high-tech zone, a science city, a satellite city of Hanoi and will be a bright spot attracting foreign high-tech investment.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong expressed his delight at visiting Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park, a high-tech science incubator of the country, and attending the New Year Tree Planting Festival in 2015 in a sacred land rich in cultural traditions.

On behalf of the Central Executive Committee, Party and State leaders, the General Secretary sent the best New Year wishes to all cadres and employees working at Hoa Lac High-Tech Park.

The General Secretary emphasized: Our Party and State pay great attention to the development of science and technology, especially high-tech science. Since the 1960s, our Party and State have determined that to advance to socialism, we must carry out three revolutions, namely the revolution in production relations, the revolution in science and technology, and the revolution in ideology and culture, in which the revolution in science and technology is the key.

In recent years, as the country has carried out innovation and international integration, the Party and State have increasingly attached importance to the development of science and technology, considering it a top national policy, a decisive factor in the intelligence and strength of a nation, and one of the driving forces for socio-economic development and national defense. Investing in science and technology as well as education and training is investing in development.

In fact, the Party and the State have done many things, including implementing the construction of high-tech zones, especially the first one, Hoa Lac High-Tech Zone.

The General Secretary welcomed the efforts and attempts in implementing the construction of Hoa Lac High-Tech Park and the initial facilities, attracting a number of investors. The General Secretary was pleased to see that over the past year, with the efforts of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Hoa Lac High-Tech Park Management Board, and the support of Hanoi City, the implementation of the construction of Hoa Lac High-Tech Park has made positive changes, cleared the land, removed a number of policy mechanisms, and achieved many results.

The General Secretary hopes that with the current momentum, Hoa Lac High-Tech Park will continue to be implemented more strongly, achieving more positive results, meeting requirements and aspirations and ensuring the set schedule.

The General Secretary welcomed the initiative to organize a tree planting festival in the Hoa Lac High-Tech Park - the country's high-tech science and technology incubator. Following Uncle Ho's advice: For the benefit of ten years, we must plant trees, for the benefit of a hundred years, we must cultivate people, the General Secretary hoped that the planting of trees, cultivating people and promoting high-tech incubators in the Hoa Lac High-Tech Park would yield many good results. The cadres and employees of the Hoa Lac High-Tech Park will plant trees in a real way, not just as a formality, so that this land will not only have a lush green garden, but also a high-tech garden, reaping lush green seasons on the land of Hoa Lac.
