General survey of economic, administrative and career establishments in 2012, phase II
Yesterday (July 2), localities across the country simultaneously conducted the 2012 general census of economic, administrative and public service establishments, phase II, covering the public service sector, individuals and religious sectors.
General Director of the General Statistics Office Do Thuc, Deputy Head of the Central Census Steering Committee, said that in phase 2, nearly 5 million units nationwide will be surveyed.
On the first day of the campaign, July 2, in Hanoi alone, there were 361,760 establishments, including 7,611 administrative and public establishments, 3,853 religious and belief establishments, and 350,296 individual production and business establishments (of which 287,607 establishments conducted surveys and recorded ballots and 62,689 establishments only made lists, not surveys).
Mr. Nguyen Van Suu, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for the 2012 General Census of Economic, Administrative and Career Establishments of the city, said that Hanoi is the cultural, economic and political center of the whole country, in which the country's administrative and career units such as central agencies, universities, hospitals, etc. are concentrated. Therefore, from the beginning, the city's leaders have directed strongly from the preparation stage. The survey results will be the basis for the city to have plans for socio-economic development of the city in the coming years.

To ensure the quality of the Census, district supervisors will increase regular or ad hoc inspections and supervision during training, information collection, and rapid synthesis of survey data in the area.
During the first week of investigating administrative, religious, and individual sectors, district supervisors will also check the investigator's forms at the end of each day to supplement and correct missing or inaccurate information, and gain experience for the following days.
Mr. Do Thuc, General Director of the General Statistics Office, Deputy Head of the Central Census Steering Committee, said that Phase II of the General Census has 3 different subjects, leading to different questionnaires and different methods. In order to achieve good results in Phase II of the General Census, localities need to focus on investigating all units. In addition, checking the survey questionnaires must be done right from the beginning, checking the questionnaires as soon as they arrive to correct system errors. With individual business households, investigators need to be skillful, grasp the psychology of the people and the economic and social characteristics of the region, area, etc.
The 2012 General Census of Economic, Administrative and Public Service Establishments, Phase II, will be conducted from July 2 to July 30, 2012.
Previously, phase 1 of this national census was conducted from April 1 to May 31, 2012 to collect information on the business sector.
