The General Association of Vietnamese in Laos officially has a new headquarters.

(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of June 17, the General Association of Vietnamese in Laos held an inauguration ceremony for its new headquarters. Attending the ceremony were Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Manh Hung, Major General Somphone Keomisay, President of the Lao Veterans Association; representatives of Vietnamese and Lao agencies; the Executive Committee of the General Association of Vietnamese in Laos; representatives of the Vientiane Capital Vietnamese Association and the Association of Vietnamese in several other localities of Laos, along with a large number of Vietnamese people living and working in Laos.

Mr. Nguyen Duy Trung, Acting Chairman of the General Association of Vietnamese People in Laos, said that the General Association Headquarters was built on a land area of ​​more than 1,000 square meters.², located on Lao - Thai road, Thong-phan-thong village, Xi-xac-tan-nac district (Vientiane Capital), granted by the General Department of Logistics, Lao Ministry of National Defense. The headquarters includes a two-story building with a large hall and functional rooms, with a total construction cost of more than 636 thousand USD, contributed by localities and domestic agencies, philanthropists and Vietnamese and overseas Vietnamese businesses living and investing in Laos.

On behalf of the representative agencies of Vietnam in Laos, Ambassador Nguyen Manh Hung thanked the Lao Party, Government, Ministry of National Defense, Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction; Vietnamese localities and enterprises, Vietnamese and overseas Vietnamese philanthropists for their support, facilitation and financial contributions to build a spacious and convenient General Association Headquarters for community activities, so that the General Association of Vietnamese in Laos can truly become a united home for the Vietnamese community in Laos; a solid bridge in the friendly relations between the two countries, contributing to the development of Laos, building a strong and united community towards the homeland.

Ambassador Nguyen Manh Hung congratulated the people on having a new, spacious General Association headquarters, convenient for community activities; hoping that the General Association will have many diverse activities; actively respond to the movements launched by the two States; strengthen solidarity and cohesion among the 11 branches nationwide, creating a strong unified bloc; always uphold the spirit of mutual love and mutual assistance in life; respect the laws of the host country, contributing to fostering the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos to develop to new heights.
