Summary of 5 years of implementing the Notary Law
(Baonghean.vn) - This morning, October 9, the Provincial People's Committee held a conference to summarize 5 years of implementing the Notary Law in the province. Attending and chairing the conference were comrade Thai Van Hang - Member of the Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with representatives of provincial departments, branches, and notary organizations in the province.
After the Notary Law took effect from July 1, 2007, notary offices were established one after another. Up to now, there are 24 notary organizations in the province, including 2 public notary offices (state notaries), 22 private notary offices (private notaries). In general, since their establishment, notary offices have basically operated in compliance with the provisions of the law and the Notary Law, ensuring good implementation of notary socialization in the province, contributing to sharing the burden of judicial administration for state agencies. From July 1, 2007 to July 1, 2012 alone, notary organizations have performed 79,042 contracts and transactions, with revenue reaching over VND 25 billion. However, there are notary offices that have no customers coming to do transactions, and their revenue is not enough to pay salaries for the unit's staff, so they have had to dissolve themselves, such as Quan Hanh Notary Office.
Awarding certificates of merit to individuals with outstanding achievements in notary activities
Last 5 years
Speaking at the conference, comrade Thai Van Hang praised the results of notary activities in the past 5 years, and pointed out the shortcomings and things to do in the coming time to ensure that notary activities in the area are in the right direction, in order to improve the quality and efficiency of serving the people better. In particular, along with cultivating moral qualities, the team of notaries and staff need to constantly improve their professional skills. The Department of Justice needs to consider a number of districts that are eligible to transfer notary authority, but must ensure that it is in accordance with the planning. For areas that exceed the permitted number, it is necessary to carry out mergers. In addition, it is necessary to strengthen inspection and examination of notary activities, as well as promptly rectify, not to let unhealthy competition arise between notary offices. On the part of the Provincial People's Committee, it will soon study and invest in data management software between notary offices and notary offices in the area so that information can be looked up promptly.
On this occasion, 1 collective and 2 individuals with outstanding achievements in notary activities over the past 5 years were awarded certificates of merit by the Provincial People's Committee.
