Summary of the campaign for the Day for the Poor and relief activities

Creating a strong change in the implementation of the campaign "Day for the Poor", the provincial and urban districts have organized the implementation and widely disseminated the purpose, meaning and content of the campaign. The Standing Committee of the Campaign and the interdisciplinary delegation inspected and guided districts, cities and towns to coordinate with the authorities to inspect and supervise the reception, management and use of the "Fund for the Poor" and urged the implementation in the units. In the past year, districts, cities and towns have focused on building 573 new houses, repairing 306 solidarity houses, and also supporting and assisting in medical examination and treatment, studying, and developing production... Implementing the policy of caring for the poor, contributing to reducing the poverty rate in the whole province to 12.5%. The result of the campaign fund in 2013 reached nearly 7.4 billion VND.
In 2013, the Relief Committees at all levels organized visits, encouraged and gave gifts to people affected by storms and floods in a timely manner; allocated money and relief goods to the right beneficiaries. From October 2013 to December 2013, 404 delegations of enterprises, organizations, individuals, philanthropists and other provinces donated money and goods worth nearly 32.5 billion VND, and promptly allocated money and relief goods to Hoang Mai Town, Quynh Luu District and other affected localities. The total amount of money transferred during storm No. 10 and other natural disasters was more than 10 billion VND.
In the coming time, the Relief Committee will continue to innovate the method of mobilizing support for the "Fund for the Poor"; review and urge a number of agencies, units and enterprises that have registered to support during the launching ceremony of the Fund for the Poor in 2013.
