Project Summary "Connecting communities in HIV/AIDS prevention and control in the Northern coastal provinces"
(Baonghean.vn)- On September 25, the Nghe An Province HIV/AIDS Prevention Center in collaboration with the Center for Community Health Research and Development (COHED) organized a workshop to summarize the project "Connecting communities in HIV/AIDS prevention and control in the northern coastal provinces".
Attending the conference were representatives of Department A63 - Ministry of Public Security, representatives of sponsors and more than 70 delegates who are specialized staff at the Medical Center and community-based organizations (CBO).

After 15 months of implementing the Project, Nghe An has reached 4,211 subjects, tested 3,026 cases, detected 173 new positive cases, the number of subjects registered for OPC services and put on ARV treatment is 173 people...

To share the implementation of the above goals, the workshop listened to presentations from CBO groups in Que Phong, Quy Chau districts and Vinh city. Besides positive results, there are still some difficulties such as discrimination in the community, large area, fluctuating population, weak qualifications and capacity of community outreach workers, inconsistent reception, management and monitoring systems at medical facilities...
In the coming time, Nghe An strives to reach and screen nearly 40,000 high-risk people by September 30, 2017; conduct HIV screening tests at districts, communes, and villages for 31,000 people; and provide care and treatment for nearly 2,700 newly diagnosed HIV patients.
