Summary of the combined military-civilian medical project phase 2006 - 2010
On the morning of March 24, in Cua Lo Town, the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Health jointly held a conference to summarize the combined military-civilian medical project for the 2006-2010 period and deploy tasks for the 2011-2015 period.
After 5 years of implementation, the Military-Civilian Medical Joint Project has brought about practical results. First of all, it has built and trained a reserve force for the health sector, fundamentally changing the awareness of leaders of health departments towards the task of building a national defense. At the same time, it has mobilized the combined strength of the military and civilian medical forces in responding to natural disasters and epidemics, implementing social policies and combining medical examination and treatment with effective implementation of mass mobilization work. The project also contributes to consolidating and improving the quality of grassroots medical services, especially in remote, isolated, border, island and key areas of national defense and security.
On this occasion, the Ministry of Health awarded 75 collectives and 130 individuals with outstanding achievements in the 5 years of project implementation. The Border Guard Command also awarded medals for border security and sovereignty to 22 individuals who are leaders of the Ministry of Health and related ministries and sectors.
