(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of November 6, the Steering Committee of the journey "The Army joins hands for community health" held an online conference to summarize and evaluate the results of the journey in 2014. At the Hanoi bridge, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Cung, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense, chaired the conference. Also attending the conference were representatives of leaders of a number of central ministries and branches. At the Nghe An bridge, Major General Tran Tien Dung, Deputy Political Commissar of Military Region 4 chaired the conference, also attending was comrade Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

The journey "Army joins hands for community health" is a content of the Project to organize activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 25th anniversary of the National Defense Day; is a large-scale activity of the army in peacetime with the participation of many forces inside and outside the army. The journey takes place in 71 districts in 63 provinces and cities with many activities, targeting many beneficiaries including: Medical examination, free medicine, health consultation, donation of medical equipment, gifts for policy families... In 71 areas of operation of the Journey in 63 provinces and cities across the country, nearly 70,000 people were examined and given free medicine; cataract surgery for 43 patients; donated medical equipment to 100 military-civilian medical clinics, commune and ward health facilities; gifts to 8,200 policy beneficiaries and poor households; combine to build 6 charity houses...
In Nghe An, the Military Telecommunications Group - Viettel Nghe An Branch has coordinated with the journey "The Army joins hands for community health" to conduct health examinations, consultations and provide free medicine in the two districts of Ky Son and Tuong Duong. In the two above mentioned localities, the set goals were achieved with high results, in which, medical examinations, medicine provision, organizing consultations to raise awareness of disease prevention for the people, giving gifts to policy families, poor households... all exceeded the set plan.
The journey "Army joins hands for community health" was a great success, demonstrating the ethics of "remembering the source of drinking water", "repaying gratitude", the affection and responsibility of officers and soldiers in the army towards the people, especially towards families and policy beneficiaries, ethnic minorities and the poor. The successful journey has created a positive social effect in caring for policy beneficiaries and the poor; at the same time, it has practical significance, actively contributing to community health care, consolidating and strengthening military-civilian solidarity, and further enhancing the noble image of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" in the hearts of the people.
