Summary of passenger transport activities during the Lunar New Year and implementation of transport work in 2013
(Baonghean.vn) - This afternoon, March 18, Nghe An Department of Transport organized a summary of the transport work in 2012, passenger transport activities during the Quy Ty Tet holiday and deployed the transport work in 2013.
Nghe An currently has 118 routes with a total of 968 participating in passenger transportation. In addition to the two main bus stations in Vinh City, there are also bus stations in the districts that operate routes within the province and neighboring Laos. In 2012, passenger transportation activities had many positive changes in both quality and quantity in management, operation and service. Especially before, during and after the Lunar New Year, the Transport sector focused on directing Nghe An Bus Station Joint Stock Company and transport enterprises to focus on doing a good job of transporting passengers smoothly and safely. During the Tet holiday, the Transport sector mobilized nearly 16,300 trips, serving over 363,281 passengers, ensuring safety, order and satisfying the travel needs of the people.

In addition, the traffic inspection force coordinates with traffic police and local police to strengthen inspection and handle traffic law violations; eliminate illegal bus stations, prevent vehicles from going in circles, dropping off passengers at the wrong stations, and carrying passengers beyond the prescribed limit.
The conference deployed the tasks of passenger transport in 2013, specifically: Focusing on state management and promoting passenger transport business activities in the area; continuing to accelerate the construction of infrastructure for bus stations in the North and South of Vinh City to relocate bus stations out of the city center; regularly inspecting and supervising the installation, management and operation of the vehicle journey monitoring system; promoting the inspection and supervision of passenger transport activities in the area, bringing passenger transport activities into a stable, orderly and correct manner.

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 6 collectives and 7 individuals with outstanding achievements; the Department of Transport awarded certificates of merit to 2 collectives and 18 individuals.
