"Air defense systems destroyed two missiles that attacked the Kerch transport interchange and Morozovsk airport," Afzalov said in a report to Valery Gerasimov, chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces. With two more missiles, Kiev tried to attack Shaikovka airport in Kaluga province, Afzalov said. These missiles were destroyed by electronic warfare and fell in the area of Bytosh village. "There were no casualties," Afzalov said.

According to him, the protection of the most important air defense facilities from enemy air attack weapons will continue within the existing combat capabilities. Immediately after the attack, the Russian Defense Ministry held an emergency meeting and issued a report: "The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, General Valery Gerasimov, assigned the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate and those responsible for command to systematically organize work to identify storage and training sites, as well as launch sites for S-200 missiles and similar attack weapons of the enemy, and plan a preemptive strike"./.
