According to Reuters, on August 30, US National Security Advisor Susan Rice said President Barack Obama has invited Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to visit the White House next October.
On Twitter, Ms. Rice announced: "Conveyed the US President's invitation to visit the White House to Prime Minister Sharif in October to continue discussions."
On August 29, a senior US official said that Ms. Rice visited Pakistan to meet with senior officials of the host country to "advance common interests and address issues of concern, especially terrorist and militant attacks originating from Pakistani territory"./.
