President Biden: America will not bow, 'I will not bow' to Russia
(Baonghean.vn) - In the State of the Union Address on the evening of March 7 local time, President Joe Biden declared that the US will not stop supporting Ukraine in its conflict with Russia.

Mr. Biden asserted that Russian President Vladimir Putin is determined to “sow chaos throughout Europe.” Speaking to Congress, President Biden emphasized: “If anyone in this room thinks Putin will stop in Ukraine, I guarantee you he will not.”
The White House boss continued to call on House Republicans to stop blocking additional military aid to Kiev. “Ukraine can deter Putin if we stand with Ukraine and provide the weapons it needs to defend itself,” Biden said. “My message to President Putin, whom I have known for a long time, is simple: We will not walk away. We will not bow. I will not bow.”
Speaking to US lawmakers and foreign dignitaries on Capitol Hill, President Biden reiterated that his administration has no plans to send US troops directly to fight Russia. “(The Ukrainians) are not asking for American troops. In fact, there are no American troops in the fighting in Ukraine and I am determined to maintain that position,” Mr. Biden stressed.
In addition, in his speech, President Biden announced that the US military will build a temporary dock on the Gaza coast to deliver humanitarian aid to the besieged Palestinian enclave. He made the announcement as the war between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas entered its fifth month. The US had previously begun airdropping aid packages into Gaza. The new method was designed to facilitate deliveries by sea. “Tonight, I am directing the US military to lead an urgent mission to establish a temporary Mediterranean dock on the Gaza coast to be able to receive large shipments of food, water, medicine and temporary shelter,” Biden said. He added that “there will be no US forces on the ground.”
A senior White House official told reporters that the dock will be able to handle “hundreds of additional trucks of assistance per day.” The first shipments will come via Cyprus, the official said. The US will “coordinate with Israel to meet security requirements on the ground” and coordinate with the United Nations and humanitarian groups to distribute the aid, the official said. The new approach will “take several weeks to plan and execute,” the official said.
