According to RT news agency on March 8, Bloomberg quoted a source saying that, amid speculation about Russia's alleged "plan" to put nuclear weapons into space, the US is preparing a resolution to submit to the United Nations Security Council to warn the world community about such steps.
According to Bloomberg, the resolution could be introduced this March. The resolution could "reaffirm the obligations of countries under the 1967 Outer Space Treaty."
The United Nations General Assembly in late 2022 adopted a resolution proposed by Russia, calling on countries not to deploy weapons in space. However, unlike UN Security Council resolutions, General Assembly resolutions are not legally binding.
Earlier, the press secretary of the Russian President, Dmitry Peskov, stressed that any discussion about the possibility of nuclear war is "irresponsible", because this is the last option, and no one wants to implement it.
