On February 25, Turkish TV station Show TV used a photo of Mr. Moon in its news program reporting the murder of a Filipino maid. The station also used a photo of Mr. Moon and Ivanka Trump, the daughter of the US President, calling them "a millionaire businessman and his wife" and a "murderous couple."

The broadcaster deleted the video online after receiving a firm complaint from the South Korean embassy in Ankara but has not yet issued any statement admitting its serious mistake.

"The government has repeatedly complained to the broadcaster through the embassy immediately after the broadcast and requested an apology," a South Korean foreign ministry official said. "Seoul has also called for assurances that similar incidents will not occur in the future."

The broadcaster sent a formal apology to the South Korean government earlier this month, but Seoul reiterated its stance of demanding an apology through television programs.
