At the invitation of Indonesian President Joko Widodo, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong paid an official visit to the Republic of Indonesia from August 22-24.

Earlier in the morning, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation laid wreaths at the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery, the resting place of more than 7,000 martyrs and veterans in Indonesia’s struggle for independence. This is also the resting place of many famous Indonesian leaders, economic planners, and composers.
