German sources have told the press that if the list is still published, it will lead to huge political damage. In particular, US intelligence agencies refuse to inform Germany about urgent terrorist threats.
However, US authorities have denied rumors that they might refuse to participate in the "G-7" Summit.
"Germany was prevented from publishing for reasons much more serious than Snowden's revelations," the US intelligence source said.
The "G-7" summit will be held at Elmau Castle near the Bavarian town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen on June 7-8, just 90 km from the former US listening post in Bad Aibling.
