Russian President Vladimir Putin suddenly dismissed 10 generals

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree dismissing 10 generals working at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Federal Penal Service (FSIN) and the Russian Investigative Committee.



According to President Putin's decree posted on Russia's official legal website on March 9, among the 10 generals are the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Transport Department in charge of the Volga Federal District, Major General Vladimir Berglezov; the head of the Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee in charge of the Primorsky region, Major General Sergei Bobrovnichy; the head of the FSIN in charge of the Saratov region, Major General Aleksandr Gnezdilov; the first vice rector of the Moscow State University of Internal Affairs, Major General Sergei Zhevlakovich; the head of the FSIN Department of Education, Society and Psychology, Major General Aleksander Novikov; the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in charge of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Lieutenant General Ivan Shayev; and the director of the FSIN in charge of the Republic of Mordovia, Major General Ramadan Yagyae.

In addition, the decree also dismissed Sergei Legostayev from the post of prosecutor of the Chuvash Republic and Lydia Dyakonova from the post of prosecutor of the Jewish Autonomous Region.

However, the decree did not state the reason why the above series of generals lost their positions.
