President Putin surprised by how Ukraine pushed soldiers into Russian artillery fire
(Baonghean.vn) - Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed surprise at the way Ukraine pushed its soldiers into minefields and Russian artillery fire, as if they were not Ukrainians.
During a meeting with the acting Governor of Lugansk, Leonid Pasechnik, after hearing a report on the situation, President Putin shared that he was surprised to see Ukraine pushing their soldiers into minefields, under Russian artillery fire.
“Sometimes I look at what the enemy is doing, and I get the impression that the soldiers at the front are not Ukrainians at all – they are pushed into minefields, under our artillery fire. They act as if these soldiers are not Ukrainians. This is amazing. But this is their job and their problem,” Putin said.
According to the Russian leader, the population of the Lugansk region is recovering, people are returning to their homes. President Putin expressed confidence that the current leadership of the Lugansk Republic will be able to continue solving the problems facing the region.
However, President Putin also noted that Lugansk has not yet fully integrated into the legal space of the Russian Federation. Therefore, the most important thing is to establish good cooperation with government structures, so that through joint efforts Moscow integrates Lugansk into projects funded in Russia, aiming to solve many problems for the benefit of the population.
Regarding the upcoming elections in Lugansk, President Putin assessed that it is a difficult task in the context of the current conflict. However, with Russia's support and guarantees, the election campaign will go smoothly.
