"Regarding Manbij, I cannot say that we are at a point of satisfaction. The implementation of the agreement is being prolonged. Unfortunately, the process is going in the wrong direction. The leaders of our Foreign Ministry and Defense Ministry will hold talks with the United States, and I hope there will be progress," Erdogan told Turkish journalists on the plane returning home from a visit to Kyrgyzstan. He was quoted by Haberturk TV channel.
He added that in the near future, he has no intention of making a request for negotiations with US President Donald Trump, and there has been no similar request from Washington.
Previously, Ankara and Washington approved a roadmap for stabilizing the situation in Syria's Manbij region, which was liberated by the Kurdish group from the "Islamic State" terrorist group in June 2016.
