Turkish President announces his willingness to mediate between Russia and Ukraine

"We support peace in the region... We have discussed this issue many times with friendly Russia and especially with Russian President Vladimir Putin. We are ready to mediate, to hold negotiations with both Ukraine and Putin. We want to participate in resolving this issue," Erdogan told Turkish journalists on his return flight after a visit to the Republic of Turkmenistan. Erdogan's statement was quoted by NTV channel.
