President Trump: Israeli settlement development is 'bad for peace'

In an interview published in Hebrew (one of Israel's official languages) by the Israel Hayom newspaper, Mr. Trump said he “is not someone who believes that settlement development is good for peace.”
This is considered a straightforward response from Mr. Trump, because previously his administration had always been silent about Israel's announcement of building 6,000 new houses in occupied areas in recent weeks.
The international community considers settlement building in the West Bank and east Jerusalem illegal, saying it will destroy hopes for a two-state solution between Israel and Palestine.
In addition, President Trump said he would think “seriously” about moving the US Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, a move that has faced opposition from Palestine. However, so far no decision has been made. Mr. Trump added that he is “studying” the plan, while emphasizing that this is not an “easy decision”./.
