Mr. Zelensky said that due to work, people rarely have time to talk and communicate with children. “Everyone should stay at home, read books, watch movies. As for young people, we have a crisis, but no one has dismissed the demographic crisis in Ukraine. I think it is time to fight this crisis,” he said.
On March 16, President Zelensky ordered strict quarantine measures in the country due to the spread of coronavirus. The president ordered the suspension of long-distance passenger transportation by any means of transport, including trains and planes.
The measures will come into effect from noon on March 18. From March 17, all Ukrainian cities will stop the metro. In addition, Zelensky proposed to close all shopping centers, cinemas, restaurants and other entertainment venues, with only grocery stores and pharmacies remaining open.
Ukraine announced a quarantine until April 3, all educational institutions closed, and crowded public activities were banned.
Since March 17, Ukraine has closed its borders, including stopping air traffic and closing checkpoints with the self-proclaimed republics of the Donbass region.
