Ukrainian President Poroshenko says what he will do if he loses the election
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko says he plans to run for the European Parliament at the next election in 2024.
“In 2024, I will run for the European Parliament,” Poroshenko said on the sidelines of the Kiev Security Forum, answering a question about what he would do if Vladimir Zelensky won the presidential election. Poroshenko’s statement was quoted by the online version of LB.ua.

Poroshenko was elected president of Ukraine in May 2014 for a five-year term. The constitution limits the head of state to two terms.
Only citizens of EU countries can run for the European Parliament. Earlier, Mr. Poroshenko announced his intention to ensure Ukraine's EU membership by 2023.
According to the poll, published on Thursday by the sociological group "Rating" ahead of the second round of the presidential election in Ukraine, Zelensky is winning 61% of the vote, while Mr. Poroshenko's share is 24%.
