"Both international assistance as well as the defense and security sectors and the investment climate are life-and-death issues for Ukraine. Ukraine cannot and will not continue to live on aid from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank or macro-financial support from the EU. This support helps create a financial cushion to implement reforms," President Poroshenko said at a meeting of the Reform Council on October 25.
He also added: "The key measure of the effectiveness of our reforms is the amount of direct international investment, when investors vote for Ukraine in dollars, pounds, euros and gryvnia, domestic investors are very important for us."
