Ukrainian President 'politically desperate' as he calls for 'Russian empire'
By declaring Russia an “empire”, the President of Ukraine has revealed his weak position and political desperation, - Oleg Morozov, a member of the International Affairs Committee of the Russian Federation Council, commented.
Earlier, Poroshenko said that Ukraine needed a strong president who would lead the country towards European freedom and not back under the yoke of the “Russian empire”. “Poroshenko has burned all the bridges, cut all the roads. A president without flexibility is a weak president,” the senator commented.
According to him, if the choice is inclined towards Europe as a rejection of Russia, it is not a choice, because it creates new problems. “Europe does not need Ukraine, which is declaring war on Russia. Europe will not support such a Ukraine, because it does not want to pay such a dangerous price for Ukraine's security,” - Mr. Morovov is convinced.
“In other words, Poroshenko’s position is one of political weakness and despair. Perhaps all his thoughts now are focused on finding a flight ticket to some European country,” the Russian politician concluded.
