Ukrainian President says he discussed Crimea with Trump. |
Previously, in his campaign speeches, Mr. Trump repeatedly said that he would consider recognizing Crimea as Russian territory. He noted that the people of Crimea wanted to live with Russia, not with Ukraine.
"The issue of the occupation of Crimea and Donbass was raised by President-elect Trump during our conversation. I do not want to disclose the content of the first conversation between the President of Ukraine and the President-elect of the United States, but I had the opportunity to provide him with very detailed information about the situation in the east of our country," Poroshenko said at a press conference on November 24 summarizing the Ukraine-EU summit.
