UN Secretary General and Russian Foreign Minister hold talks on Ukraine
According to THX, on February 23, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon held talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on a series of security issues.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of an expanded session of the United Nations Security Council on global peace and security.

UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric told reporters: "Regarding the current conflict in eastern Ukraine, Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon expressed hope that all relevant parties will implement the commitments agreed in Minsk (Belarus) on February 12, especially the adoption of Security Council Resolution 2202."
The latest peace deal was reached after talks between the leaders of Ukraine, Russia, Germany and France in Minsk on February 12 in an effort to end the year-long conflict in Ukraine that has claimed thousands of lives.
In addition, Secretary General Ban and Foreign Minister Lavrov also discussed the situation in Libya, Yemen and Syria as well as the need for a comprehensive international response to deal with the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS) group./.
