NATO Secretary General visits Japan to discuss North Korea
The Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on April 9 that Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Anders Rasmussen will visit Japan from April 13-16.
According to Kyodo news agency, during this visit, Mr. Rasmussen is expected to meet with Japanese officials, including Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida.

According to the Japanese Foreign Ministry, the country hopes that Mr. Rasmussen's visit will be an opportunity for the two sides to further deepen their understanding of strengthening Japan-NATO relations and major issues in the global security environment.
NATO was founded in 1949, initially consisting of 12 Western countries and has now expanded to an organization of 28 countries, mostly European countries./.
