The Japanese automaker said the airbags in the affected vehicles could accidentally deploy due to faulty airbag components and the seat belt tensioners could deploy unintentionally.
The vehicles subject to recall were manufactured in the US between 2003 and 2004.
Toyota said there was one case of an unintended airbag deployment that caused a minor fire.
The Japanese automaker said that among the vehicles subject to this recall decision, there are 119,000 in the US market, 1,000 in the Canadian market and 4,000 in the Middle East market./.
