Toyota Fortuner TRD 2015 priced at nearly 1.2 billion VND in Vietnam

The best-selling SUV model in the Vietnamese market has a new version with upgrades focused on the exterior and increased price.

Despite the price tag of over one billion and the price only increasing, not decreasing, Fortuner is still the best-selling SUV in its segment and the best-selling model in the market. Preparing for the year-end sales season, Toyota introduces the new version Fortuner TRD Sportivo 2015.

The main change on the SUV is on the exterior with a sporty bodykit designed by TRD (Toyota Racing Development). The front bumper spoiler is sporty, with integrated LED daytime running lights, the rear bumper spoiler and side decals running along the body. The paint color is still the same snow white as on the 2014 version.

The interior is developed from the Fortuner V version, the center console is horizontally oriented, using chrome as well as black wood grain panels. Cabin equipment such as leather and wood steering wheel with integrated control buttons, one-touch electric windows, 6-speaker sound system. CD vertical head unit with Bluetooth connection on the 4x2 version, while on the 4x4 version is DVD.

Powering the SUV is a 2.7-liter VVT-i 4-cylinder inline DOHC engine that produces 158 horsepower at 5,200 rpm and a maximum torque of 246 Nm at 3,800 rpm. 4-speed automatic transmission, maximum speed of 147 km/h.

Safety technology is modest, including ABS anti-lock brakes, front seat airbags, and rear parking sensors. Fotuner does not integrate technologies commonly found on one-billion-dong segment cars such as electronic balance or emergency brake assist, hill start assist, etc.

Finally, the price of Fortuner TRD Sportivo 2015 is 1.082 billion for the 4x2 version and 1.195 billion for the 4x4 version. When introduced in 2014, the respective prices of these two versions were 1.009 billion and 1.115 billion. Then in May this year, they were increased to 1.029 billion and 1.138 billion. So after one year, Fortuner has increased in price by about 70 million.
