Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 2016 officially launched

Toyota has just officially introduced the 2016 Land Cruiser Prado in Australia with a completely new 2.8L turbocharged diesel engine.

In terms of overall design, the 2016 Land Cruiser Prado does not have many changes compared to the previous version. The low beam is equipped with LED projection technology, multi-reflector halogen headlights combined with LED daytime running lights. This gives the Prado a look that is not only luxurious but also smart with automatic light off modes or automatic beam angle balancing.

The rear of the car is quite square, creating a solid look. The highlight is the taillight cluster designed to extend in height, along with the spoiler integrated with brake lights to increase visibility, while also bringing a strong, modern, sporty feel. The car uses 17-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels.

Step inside the cabin and you will feel that this is a quite luxurious SUV. The design style is strong with sharp angular details. A large multimedia screen is located in the center of the dashboard. A 9-speaker sound system with a 5.1 amplifier.

Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 2016 along with Hilux 2016 are the first two models that the Japanese car company equipped with a completely new turbocharged diesel engine with code 1GD-FTV. This engine has a capacity of 2.8L, 4 cylinders, turbocharged, common rail fuel injection, maximum capacity of 174 horsepower and maximum torque of 450 Nm from only 2,400 rpm.

The car is equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission or a 6-speed manual transmission (torque reduced to 420 Nm), Euro 5 emission standards. According to Toyota, the 2016 Prado has a fuel consumption reduction of 10% compared to the current version. With the 6-speed manual transmission, the average fuel consumption is 12.7 liters/100 km, while the 6-speed automatic transmission will give a lower fuel consumption of 12.5 liters/100 km.

In this introduction, Toyota has not yet revealed the official price of Land Cruiser Prado 2016. Currently, the car is being distributed in Vietnam with a price of about more than 2 billion VND.
