Toyota Yaris 2017 - timely change

The new hatchback model received many upgrades in the interior, exterior and engine with a starting price of 20,400 USD in Europe.

Faced with increased competition from many car manufacturers, especially Korean ones, Toyota seems unable to slowly upgrade its products and "wait" for its competitors like before. The 2017 Yaris is a mid-cycle upgrade but has seen many quality changes.

The car is equipped with a new 1.5-liter engine, 110 horsepower, maximum torque of 136 Nm, replacing the 1.3-liter type in the previous version. Standard 6-speed manual transmission and optional CVT transmission.

The Yaris in Europe remains the only model in its segment to be offered with a hybrid engine option, combining a 1.5-liter petrol engine and an electric motor. The base version is fitted with a 1.0-liter petrol engine and a 5-speed manual transmission.

There are 4 versions of Yaris 2017, including standard Mid, Mid+, Bi-tone and Chic. All are equipped with active safety systems such as lane departure warning, forward collision warning, and adaptive headlights.

The new Yaris starts at $20,400 in Europe, $800 less than its predecessor. The hybrid version starts at $26,100, $300 less than the old version.
