On the afternoon of September 18, the high tide at Phu An station on the Saigon River peaked at 1.50 m. This was a higher tide than initially forecast and reached alert level 3.Many roads were submerged in water.
With this high tide, many roads in Ho Chi Minh City such as: Ben Phu Dinh (District 8), Le Co Street, Ho Hoc Lam (Binh Tan District), An Duong Vuong Street (Ward 16, District 8), Luong Dinh Cua Street (District 2), D2 (Binh Thanh) ... have been flooded. However, because there is no rain, people do not have too much difficulty in traveling.

On September 19, the high tide still exceeded alert level 2 with a peak tide of 1.46m. Currently, the Flood and Storm Prevention Command of Ho Chi Minh City and districts are still urgently implementing measures to respond to this high tide.
Thu Duc, 12, Binh Thanh, Go Vap districts, Cu Chi and Hoc Mon districts mobilize forces to proactively build and immediately handle incidents or risks of overflowing or breaking embankments, according to the "four on-site" motto, to prevent prolonged flooding that affects people's lives, production and activities.
Mr. Truong Ngoc Tu, Vice Chairman of Thanh Loc Ward People's Committee, District 12, said that in the spirit of the district's direction, the ward continues to implement the 4-on-the-spot motto, the ward's forces and people are mobilized so that when an incident occurs, it can be resolved immediately, reducing damage to the people.
