Ho Chi Minh City meets to discuss building a statue of President Ho Chi Minh
The statue of President Ho Chi Minh will be placed in front of the current headquarters of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.
On the morning of September 11, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee held an extraordinary conference. The conference focused on discussing and giving opinions on the project to build a statue of President Ho Chi Minh and the plan to invite the statue of Uncle Ho with children to the city's children's house.
After receiving permission from the Central Party Secretariat to build a statue of President Ho Chi Minh at the city's administrative center on June 6, 2011, the city has implemented this project.
According to the project, the statue of President Ho Chi Minh will be placed at the location of the statue of Uncle Ho with children in front of the current headquarters of the City People's Committee. The statue of Uncle Ho with children will be invited to the City Children's House.
Monument "Uncle Ho with children"
Up to now, the project has completed the design, construction planning, and completed the architectural space design plan of the monument. In the design plan, the monument space has the most important position in the overall synchronization of the city center area, in harmony with the landscape, creating an open space with the headquarters of the People's Council - People's Committee, the City Theater and Nguyen Hue Street - the walking street.
All details such as: trees, sculptures, stone types, etc. are given very specific opinions, suitable for the requirements of the project and surrounding landscape.
The monument design contest received 32 sketches from 24 authors and 1 unit.
From September 20 to October 20, the city will display these 32 sketches at the Ho Chi Minh Museum - City Branch, for the public to visit and give comments.
The City People's Committee will submit it to the City Party Committee, People's Council, Secretariat and Central Propaganda Department for approval in late October or early November this year.
In early December 2013, the city started construction of the monument and completed it before February 28, 2015./.
