Ho Chi Minh City will organize an assessment of the socio-economic development cooperation program with 9 provinces in Nghe An.

Attending the conference will be leaders and businesses from Ho Chi Minh City, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, and Ha Nam.

During the activities, the delegation will visit and offer incense at the Kim Lien and Nam Dan National Special Relic Site; visit and survey investment and trade locations in Nghe An province; organize a conference to connect trade between modern distribution systems with provinces and cities; display, exhibit, promote trade, investment and tourism to introduce and promote the strengths and potentials of provinces and cities.

The highlight of the series of activities was the Conference to review and summarize the Socio-Economic Development Cooperation Program with the provinces of the North Central, Central Coast, Northern Midlands and Mountains and the Red River Delta held on the morning of March 25 in Vinh City with the participation of 445 delegates.

Particularly, the cooperative relationship between Ho Chi Minh City and Nghe An, stemming from sincere feelings and responsibility towards the homeland of President Ho Chi Minh, the leaders, as well as departments, branches and sectors through the periods and businesses of the city named after Uncle Ho, have always given much support and cooperation to develop with Nghe An province, bringing practical results in many aspects.

The socio-economic development cooperation program between Ho Chi Minh City and Nghe An province was first officially signed and implemented in 2003. Then, after the Politburo issued Resolution No. 26-NQ/TW on the development direction of Nghe An province to 2020 on July 30, 2013, Ho Chi Minh City was the first locality to review and evaluate the development cooperation process between the two localities and signed the Socio-economic Development Cooperation Agreement for the period 2014-2020 on September 19, 2014.

After the working session on March 21, 2019 between the Politburo and the Standing Committee of Nghe An province to review 5 years of implementing Resolution No. 26-NQ/TW of the Politburo, Ho Chi Minh City was also the first locality to come to Nghe An to continue to review and re-evaluate the cooperation results as well as development orientation for the new period.

Accordingly, on April 13, 2019, in Vinh City, leaders of Ho Chi Minh City and Nghe An Province held a Conference to review socio-economic development cooperation in the period of 2014 - 2019 and signed a Cooperation Agreement for the period of 2019 - 2025 with the view of comprehensive socio-economic development cooperation, promoting the advantages of the two localities, responding to the development and integration trend. The cooperation is based on the principles of equality, voluntary spirit, proactiveness according to the general direction of the two localities and specific plans.

In particular, the two localities will promote cooperation in economic development (investment attraction, agriculture, industry and trade); culture, sports; science and technology; information and communication; education and training; health care, tourism, radio - television and social security./.
