Ho Chi Minh City and Nghe An exchange and share experiences in preventing and fighting Covid-19 epidemic

On the morning of October 22, a working delegation of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and People's Committee led by Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai - Member of the Standing Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Inspection Committee visited and shared experiences in Covid-19 prevention and control in Nghe An province.

Receiving the delegation from Nghe An province were members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Bui Thanh An - Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee; Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee.

At the meeting, comrades Bui Thanh An and Vo Thi Minh Sinh informed about the epidemic situation.Covid-19in the province, accordingly, since the beginning of the epidemic season, the province has recorded 2,176 Covid-19 patients in 21 localities; the number of patients who have recovered and been discharged from hospital: 1,905 patients; the number of patients who died: 19 patients. The number of patients currently being treated: 252 patients. The total number of citizens returning from the southern provinces from October 1 to now is 20,324. 208 positive cases were detected (205 new infections, 3 re-positive cases).

With the tradition of mutual love and support, Nghe An mobilized 320 doctors and medical staff to support Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, and Dong Nai in fighting the epidemic. The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province launched the week "For the city named after Uncle Ho",... Nghe An people supported Ho Chi Minh City with 4.5 billion VND and goods worth more than 9 billion VND.

At the meeting, comrade Duong Ngoc Hai informed that according to the plan, in the first phase, Ho Chi Minh City will send 15 members of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee to 32 provinces and cities to thank, visit and exchange experiences with localities in epidemic prevention. After that, tHo Chi Minh Citywill continue to organize other delegations to go to the remaining localities.

At the same time, he emphasized that during the recent Covid-19 outbreak, Ho Chi Minh City received active support from ministries, branches and localities, including the active support from the Party Committee, government and people of Nghe An province. Ho Chi Minh City always appreciates and is grateful for the support of localities and units, thanks to which the city has more conditions to prevent and fight the epidemic.

On this occasion, the people, cadres and soldiers of Ho Chi Minh City presented Nghe An province with medical equipment and supplies for epidemic prevention and control worth 500 million VND.

Comrade Vo Thi Minh Sinh thanked the working group for sharing experiences in the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic. The Party Committee, Government and People of Ho Chi Minh City donated gifts of medical supplies and equipment to help Nghe An province better and more effectively carry out the work of preventing and controlling the epidemic in the coming time.

At the same time, he expressed his hope that Ho Chi Minh City would control the epidemic situation well, bringing the city back to a new, effective normal state.
