Thanh Hoa City expands administrative boundaries 2.5 times
The Government has just issued Resolution 05/NQ-CP on adjusting the administrative boundaries of Hoang Hoa, Thieu Hoa, Dong Son and Quang Xuong districts to expand the administrative boundaries of Thanh Hoa city.
Accordingly, the Government decided to adjust the entire natural area and population of the following 19 communes and towns to the management of Thanh Hoa city, Thanh Hoa province, including: Hoang Anh, Hoang Ly, Hoang Long, Hoang Quang, Hoang Dai communes and Tao Xuyen town of Hoang Hoa district; Thieu Duong, Thieu Khanh, Thieu Van communes of Thieu Hoa district; Dong Linh, Dong Tan, Dong Hung, Dong Vinh communes and Nhoi town of Dong Son district; Quang Thinh, Quang Dong, Quang Phu, Quang Tam and Quang Cat communes of Quang Xuong district.

In addition, according to Resolution 05/NQ-CP, Tao Xuyen ward of Thanh Hoa city was established on the basis of the original status of 275.82 hectares of natural area and 5,842 people of Tao Xuyen town.
Establish An Hoach ward of Thanh Hoa city on the basis of the original status of 254.69 hectares of natural area and 5,953 people of Nhoi town.
After adjusting the administrative boundaries of districts to expand the administrative boundaries of Thanh Hoa city and establishing 2 wards of Thanh Hoa city, Thanh Hoa city has 14 wards with 14,677.07 hectares of natural area and 393,294 people.
Previously, at the third session of the 16th Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Council, which took place from December 14 to 16, 2011, the Provincial People's Committee presented document No. 102 on adjusting the administrative boundaries of Hoang Hoa, Thieu Hoa, Dong Son, and Quang Xuong districts to expand Thanh Hoa City.
