Vinh City destroys nearly 1,000 poultry infected with H5N1
(Baonghean.vn) -On July 2, 2012, Vinh City destroyed nearly 1,000 poultry infected with H5N1 of Mr. Chu Van Hoa's family in Hamlet 10, Nghi Lien Commune.
On June 30, 2012, Mr. Hoa discovered that poultry (mainly ducks) died in large numbers and had symptoms of H5N1, so he reported it to the commune. The commune promptly reported to the City People's Committee and invited veterinary staff to take samples for testing. The results were positive for H5 N1.
Currently, Vinh City has directed Nghi Lien commune to disinfect, count all poultry and waterfowl in the area, vaccinate poultry and waterfowl in the surrounding area, and notify people not to transport poultry and waterfowl from the epidemic area out of the area.
