(Baonghean.vn) -In November 2013, Nghe An Department of Health deployed and directed the injection of Quinvaxem vaccine in the Expanded Immunization Program in the whole province after a temporary suspension to re-inspecte the quality.

In Vinh City alone, according to statistics, the total number of children needing all three doses is 5,729. However, in reality, the number of children vaccinated has decreased sharply compared to before, reaching only 738/5,729 children (accounting for 12.88%).

According to Dr. Ho Huu Da - Director of Vinh City Medical Center, "Although the Department of Health has conducted inspections at vaccination sites in accordance with the correct and strict procedures. However, in the recent vaccination campaign, the number of children vaccinated was only low, the main reason is that parents are waiting to see how their children react after being re-vaccinated; communication work has not reached the target audience; other 5-in-1 and 6-in-1 vaccine companies have actively promoted their products with many outstanding advantages, causing confusion among some parents, which has also affected the effectiveness of the program. In addition, the communication work to notify the vaccination schedule of the Health Station is not clear, so some parents do not know the schedule for re-vaccination".

Faced with the above situation, the health sector has directed vaccination sites to strengthen the work of ensuring safety in vaccination, and at the same time promote communication about the benefits of vaccination for children to parents so that they can feel secure in fully vaccinating their children, ensuring the rights of children.
