Prison No. 6 receives First Class Fatherland Protection Medal

On December 16, 1946, Prison Camp No. 6 was established under the name Yen Son Camp. In 1952, the Hoa Quan Camp of the Inter-Zone 4 Police was merged with Yen Son Camp and officially called Re-education Camp No. 6.
On July 1, 1996, Nghe An Provincial Police handed over the camp to Department V26, now General Department 8 of the Ministry of Public Security, for management and renamed it Prison No. 6, located in Hanh Lam Commune, with more than 3,000 prisoners serving their reform sentences. Over the years, closely following its functions and tasks, overcoming difficulties, Prison No. 6 has excelled in its mission. The camp manages and educates prisoners, encouraging those who have made mistakes to reform themselves so that they can soon enjoy leniency under the law.
In recognition of that contribution, the President awarded the First Class Fatherland Protection Medal for the period 2006-2010 to the unit for its outstanding achievements, contributing to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
