Solemn and respectful "Drinking water, remember its source" festival

(Baonghean.vn) -To commemorate the 66th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2013), from July 24 to 27, Anh Son district organized the Festival of Drinking Water and Remembering Its Source at the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Cemetery.

On the evening of July 26, at 7:30 p.m., the incense offering and candle lighting ceremony took place at the Vietnam - Laos Martyrs Cemetery Memorial. The main festival night took place solemnly and respectfully, with the participation of representatives of the Military Region 4 Command, the Provincial Military Command, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and a large number of officials and people of Anh Son and Do Luong districts.

After the incense offering ceremony, a mass art exchange program with the theme "Unforgettable Song" took place in front of the memorial house.

The festival has many exciting and meaningful cultural, artistic and sports activities; promoting the tradition of remembering the source of drinking water, arousing national pride, promoting the spirit of solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Laos... During the 2013 Festival, many units and individuals came to offer incense and flowers to commemorate the heroic martyrs who fell for the independence and freedom of the country, for the noble friendship between Vietnam and Laos to be forever green...
