Ivory jewelry, pangolin hidden in salmon belly brought to Vietnam
Nearly 5 kg of African ivory jewelry, pangolin scales cut into small pieces, stuffed inside frozen salmon and milk cartons, were discovered by customs in the woman's luggage.
On May 4, the Tan Son Nhat airport customs force, in coordination with the Anti-Smuggling Investigation Department - General Department of Customs, stopped the woman who had just gotten off the flight from Angola.

Checking her luggage, the authorities discovered many bracelets, necklaces... made from African elephant tusks.
Many pangolin scales (a rare species) were wrapped in rolls of foil, frozen salmon belly, canned milk... Total weight was nearly 5 kg, estimated value was nearly 300 million VND.
The evidence and the woman were detained for investigation.

On April 16, Tan Son Nhat Airport Customs and the Anti-Smuggling Crime Police Department (C74, Ministry of Public Security) discovered a case of transporting 5 kg of rhino horn. The case has been prosecuted.
