Awarding 3,000 national flags and supporting 50 gifts to fishermen in coastal districts and towns of Nghe An
On the occasion of the Lunar New Year, on January 19, the Youth Union of Nghe An Province's Agencies, the Department of Fisheries and Fisheries Control coordinated with the Youth Union of coastal districts and towns to encourage and give Tet gifts to fishermen in difficulty and hardship.
Also participating in the working delegation were representatives of the District Youth Unions of Quynh Luu, Dien Chau, Nghi Loc and Hoang Mai Town Youth Union; representatives of coastal border stations; sponsors and leaders of People's Committees of relevant wards and communes.

The total value of gifts is about 120 million VND, including 3,000 national flags given to fishermen in coastal districts and towns (including 2,000 flags given to fishermen in Hoang Mai town and Quynh Luu district and 500 flags each to fishermen in Dien Chau and Nghi Loc districts); 50 gifts were given to fishermen in difficult circumstances and relatives of fishing boat owners in Hoang Mai town who had accidents at sea.

Speaking at the ceremony, representatives of the People's Mobilization Committee of the Town Party Committee and the District Youth Union of Hoang Mai town highly appreciated the significance of the event; at the same time, on behalf of the fishermen along the coast of Nghe An, sincerely thanked the timely encouragement and support of the Youth Union of the Provincial Department of Fisheries and Fisheries Control, the Youth Union of the Provincial Agencies and the sponsors.

The representative of the People's Committee of Hoang Mai City Party Committee said: Fishery exploitation activities still face many difficulties, but the Party Committee and the authorities pledge to direct coastal wards and communes to continue to accompany, support and encourage fishermen to overcome difficulties and go offshore; guide them to comply with the regulations on exploitation of the Fisheries Law and the recommendations of the EC to soon remove the yellow card for Vietnamese fisheries in 2025.
