Giving life jackets and national flags to fishermen in Quynh Luu
(Baonghean.vn) - In order to encourage fishermen to stay at sea to fish and protect the sovereignty of the country's sea and islands, the Farmers' Association of Nghe An province went to Quynh Luu to present the national flag and give life jackets to fishermen in Quynh Long commune.
The ceremony took place on the morning of May 12, with the participation of Nghe An Provincial Farmers' Association, Quynh Luu District Farmers' Association, commune leaders and Quynh Long Fisheries Association.
110 national flags and 200 life jackets were handed over by representatives of the Provincial Farmers' Association to offshore fishing boat owners in Quynh Long and Quynh Luu communes.

Speaking at the ceremony, a representative of the Provincial Farmers' Association said: Although the gifts are not large, they are meaningful in encouraging fishermen to stay at sea and go offshore; at the same time, actively contributing to protecting national sovereignty at sea.
It is known that Quynh Long is one of the communes with the largest number of offshore fishing vessels in Quynh Luu district. Of the total of nearly 200 fishing vessels, there are 98 offshore purse seine vessels, with an average capacity of 450 - 750 CV/vehicle.

Also in the morning, Quynh Long commune organized the implementation of natural disaster prevention and rescue work at sea in 2017.
