Awarding honorary doctorate to German Minister Roesler
This is a recognition of Mr. Philipp Roesler's contributions to cooperation between Vietnam and Germany.
On the afternoon of September 17, the National Economics University held a ceremony to award the honorary doctorate to the German Minister of Economics and Technology, Philipp Roesler.
Attending the ceremony were Deputy Minister of Education and Training, Professor, Doctor of Science Bui Van Ga, leaders of the Ministry of Science and Technology, leaders of the State Bank, leaders of the National Economics University and a large number of teachers and students of the university. Also attending were Ms. Jutta Frasch, German Ambassador to Vietnam, a number of German parliamentarians and leaders of German businesses.

This is a recognition of Mr. Philipp Roesler's outstanding contributions to economic, cultural, educational, scientific and technological cooperation between Vietnam and Germany, contributing to strengthening the friendship and cooperation between the two countries. The cooperative relationship between Germany and Vietnam has recently developed strongly, becoming a strategic partnership. Cooperation in science and education is one of the important pillars of the relationship between the two sides.
In recent years, the National Economics University has strongly promoted cooperation with many German agencies and universities. Mr. Philipp Rosler has made many important contributions to the development of this cooperation.
Mr. Philipp Roesler expressed his honor to receive the honorary doctorate degree from Vietnam and hoped that this would be a connecting step to further strengthen the relationship between Vietnam and Germany, not only in economics but also in science and education.
On this occasion, Minister Philipp Roesler also gave a presentation sharing economic and social perspectives as well as opportunities to strengthen cooperation between Vietnam and Germany. He especially emphasized the importance of cooperation between economies to overcome economic crises.
The relationship between Vietnam and Germany is a relationship of mutual development. Germany hopes that through Vietnam, there will be a close connection with ASEAN, thereby creating a link between the European Union and ASEAN countries, promoting sustainable economic development. In particular, Germany also hopes to expand relations with Vietnam, promoting German investment in Vietnam in the fields of renewable energy, health care...
Mr. Philipp Roesler also said that he was accompanied by many German businesses during his visit and working trip to Vietnam and hoped that there would be more and more cooperation between Vietnamese and German businesses on the basis of mutual trust.
Minister Roesler said that Vietnam has had a strong transformation thanks to reasonable policy changes during the years of Doi Moi and has brought prosperity and development to socio-economic life.
Vietnamese people also place a lot of hope in education and the Vietnamese community in Germany also has many successful people with very good academic achievements. Education and training is the foundation for Vietnam's future development and Vietnam needs to pay special attention to vocational training.
According to German experience, vocational training is as important as university education because it creates a good foundation for workers to become a strong force in society. The key to future economic development is education and training. Hopefully, education and training will be an important bridge between the two countries' relations.
At the awarding ceremony, Minister Philipp Roesler also answered many questions from students and lecturers of the National Economics University regarding economic issues and future cooperation between Vietnam and Germany./.
