Colonel Doan Ngoc Thien - Deputy Chief of Politics of the Military Command of Thua Thien - Hue province awarded the Certificate of Merit to the relatives of martyr Nguyen Tuan Ngai.

Martyr Nguyen Tuan Ngai was born and raised in Van Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, Nghe An province. In 1991, he joined the army and worked at the Nam Dong District Military Command. On the morning of April 22, 2013, comrade Nguyen Tuan Ngai was assigned to directly command the forest fire fighting unit at La Hy pass, Huong Phu commune, Nam Dong district; together with officers and soldiers of the unit, he acted bravely, regardless of danger, rushing to put out the fire to save the forest; while performing the task, he suffocated, lost consciousness and heroically sacrificed. In recognition of the heroic sacrifice of Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tuan Ngai for the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, the Prime Minister signed a decision to recognize Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tuan Ngai as a martyr.
