(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of October 14, at Dang Thai Mai Secondary School, Thanh Xuan Commune (Thanh Chuong District), a ceremony was held to award the National Certificate of Merit to martyr Dang Thuc Hua.

Delegates and representatives of martyr Dang Thuc Hua's family attended the ceremony to award the Certificate of Merit from the Fatherland.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Vu Hong Nam - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, Comrade Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, representatives of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, Thanh Chuong District People's Committee, relatives of martyr Dang Thuc Hua's family and teachers and students of Dang Thai Mai Secondary School.

At the ceremony, delegates and people of Thanh Xuan commune reviewed the life, background and career of martyr Dang Thuc Hua. Martyr Dang Thuc Hua (also known as Dang Ngo Sinh) was born in 1870, in Luong Dien village, Bich Hao commune, Thanh Chuong district, now Thanh Xuan commune (Thanh Chuong district). Dang Thuc Hua's family was a patriotic and revolutionary family.

Mr. Vu Hong Nam - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese spoke at the ceremony to award the certificate of merit to martyr Dang Thuc Hua.

In 1900, Dang Thuc Hua passed the provincial exam. However, he did not become an official but joined the Duy Tan Association. In 1910, Dang Thuc Hua and Phan Boi Chau returned to Siam (Thailand) to carry out the plan to build a base from which patriots could go to China to find a way to save the country, as well as to support the domestic revolutionary movement in the long term.

On August 26, 1926, Dang Thuc Hua founded the Association of Overseas Vietnamese in Siam. From here, the association of overseas Vietnamese was further promoted and organized more closely. In mid-1930, in Ban Dong, Phi Chit district, Pixanuloc province (Siam), the first Vietnamese Communist Party cell of overseas Vietnamese was established. Comrade Dang Thuc Hua was the first communist party member at the age of 60.

Despite his advanced age, with the spirit of a Communist Party member and in charge, comrade Dang Thuc Hua overcame hardships, actively participated in activities and together with overseas Vietnamese in Siam turned towards the Fatherland, following the path of fighting for national liberation. The activities of comrade Dang Thuc Hua and overseas Vietnamese in Siam made an important contribution to our country's revolution.

On February 12, 1931, comrade Dang Thuc Hua passed away in Nong On, Udon Thani, Thailand (at the age of 61). His body was collected by the General Association of Overseas Vietnamese for National Salvation in Thailand, buried and a memorial stele was built at Ban Chich Pagoda, Nong On Town, Udon Thani Province (Thailand).

With great contributions to the national revolutionary cause and to the movement to build the patriotic overseas Vietnamese movement in Thailand, on February 5, 2010, he was honored as

Doctor Dang Thuc Hua was posthumously awarded the Certificate of National Merit by the Prime Minister.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Vu Hong Nam - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, emphasized: "The fact that the Party, State and Government honor the revolutionary cause, recognize martyrs and posthumously award the Certificate of Merit to Mr. Dang Thuc Hua is not only an honor and pride for Mr. Dang Thuc Hua's family and the locality, but also has the meaning of educating patriotism for the overseas Vietnamese community in Thailand in particular and the overseas Vietnamese community in general, especially the young generation, contributing to building the overseas Vietnamese community to increasingly stabilize their lives, integrate deeply into the host society and turn towards the homeland".

After the awarding ceremony, the People's Committee of Thanh Chuong district, Thanh Xuan commune and relatives of martyr Dang Thuc Hua's family organized a procession of the Fatherland's certificate of merit to the family temple with a respectful and solemn heart.
