The FTA between the two countries will soon take effect after completing a number of procedures. According to Mr. De Vicente, in addition to wine, the Chilean product most known to Vietnamese people, the FTA will open the door for Chilean industrial products, fruits (grapes, kiwi, pomegranates, cherries) and information technology to access the Vietnamese market.

Meanwhile, Vietnam has the opportunity to increase exports to Chile, especially wood products, fruits and fish.

Speaking to the press after holding talks with President Sebastian Pinera and signing a joint statement between the two countries, President Truong Tan Sang affirmed that trade between the two countries will increase 20 times and reach 10 billion USD in the next 10 years./.
