In a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, German Chancellor Angela Merkel welcomed the Russian Federation's initiative on a peacekeeping mission in Donbass, but considered it necessary to adjust the mission, - German government spokesman Shteffen Seibert said.
"The two participants in the conversation discussed the proposal for a UN mission in Donbass. The Federal Chancellor welcomed Russia's initiative in principle, but pointed out that adjustments to the mission are needed," Seibert said.

Also in the afternoon talks, "the parties agreed that the DPRK nuclear weapons conflict should be resolved peacefully," Seibert added.
Earlier, Mr. Putin said he supported the idea of sending peacekeeping forces to Ukraine to ensure the safety of OSCE staff, the peacekeeping forces would only be present on the border line and not in any other areas.
