Providing assistive devices to the disabled in Xiangyang
(Baonghean.vn) - On October 6, the Health Department coordinated with the Tuong Duong District Medical Center to organize the donation of assistive devices to people with disabilities in the district in 2018.
This time, 10 wheelchairs, 6 walkers, 5 walking sticks and 1 hearing aid were given to 22 disabled people in difficult circumstances, policy families of Yen Thang, Yen Na, Yen Hoa, Xa Luong, Mai Son, Tam Dinh, Thach Giam, Luong Minh communes and Hoa Binh town.
To maximize the features of the tools and ensure safety for users, at the ceremony, the District Health Department staff instructed the disabled on how to use and the features of each tool.

All assistive devices for people with disabilities, part of the community-based rehabilitation program for people with disabilities, were donated by Nghe An Provincial Rehabilitation Hospital.
There are currently more than 7,000 disabled people in Tuong Duong district. Donating assistive devices to the disabled will help them move around, reduce the burden on their families in caring for them, and at the same time encourage and help the disabled to rise up and integrate into life./.
